Catch up Europe:
Together is Better!
Costruiamo l’Europa :
Insieme è meglio!
It was with great emotion, joy and enthusiasm that we welcomed the Italian Erasmus + delegation from the Lycee Giorgio Buchner in Ischia.
It was an unforgettable experience, full of smiles, knowing looks and wonderful encounters, surrounded by many families – in some cases even grandparents. After getting to know each other by correspondence and choosing each other, the young people spent the week immersed in our families. It was a human adventure full of sharing, debate, laughter and discoveries about Europe.
These were intense days, rich in encounters, exchanges and discoveries! Learners took an active part in classroom activities and debates on key themes such as responsible citizenship and commitment.
In the afternoon, at the Mondorf cinema, the screening of the docu-drama L’arrivée de la Jeunesse by director Fabio Bottani, introduced by the film’s producer Maria Grazia Galati and devoted to migration in Luxembourg, in particular Italian migration, provided an opportunity for reflection and dialogue.
- How does this film help us to better understand Europe?
- Can you belong to several cultures without losing your identity?
These are all questions that have stayed with us throughout our Erasmus experience.
Earth Day, on 22 April, was celebrated first at the European Centre in Schengen, with a day full of discoveries, debates and games about Europe, and then at the Biodiversum in Remerschen, where we went birdwatching, had lunch together and took up the challenge of travelling only by public transport.
A visit to the European Parliament, a guided tour of the city of Luxembourg, and a final evening with a shared meal – all the families brought their own dishes in a fraternal atmosphere that could not have been more European.
On the last day of the week, our hearts full of emotion, we said goodbye, promising to see each other again in Ischia very soon and, in the meantime, to keep in touch by writing to each other. See you soon in Ischia!
