At EIMLB, we ask secondary learners to leave their jackets in the cloakroom for the following reasons:
- Less cluttered learning environment: Learners are less distracted, feel more comfortable, and stay focused.
- Safety and movement: Jackets can obstruct spaces, creating hazards in case of emergency. Clear and safe workspaces make it easier for learners and staff to move around.
- Hygiene and comfort: Wet or dirty jackets can compromise the cleanliness of workshops.
- Preparation for professional life: Respecting a dress code helps prepare students for the professional world.
- Focus and discipline: Taking off their jacket symbolically marks the start of the school day and helps students get into the right mindset for learning.
This measure is mandatory as it contributes to a healthy and safe school environment.
